Highest calling…

“A woman’s highest calling is to lead a man to his soul, so as to unite him with the source; her lowest calling is to seduce, separating man from his soul and leave him aimlessly wandering.

A man’s highest calling is to protect woman, so she is free to walk the earth unharmed. Man’s lowest calling is to ambush and force his way into the life of a woman.”

– Native American Cherokee Proverb

Even though I take issue with the stereotypical gender distinctions (After all, men can lead women to their souls and to the source, and so can men seduce and women force themselves into men’s lives.), I still see some compassionate truth behind a lot of this and think this is beautiful.

So, I share with you here. 🙂

  1. Hi Ganesh, as I started reading this I raised my eyebrow for a split second. But in reading it through and noting the source from which it originated, I too can see the beauty in the words and meaning. Thanks for that!
