A wee child toddling in a wonder world, I prefer to their dogma my excursions into the natural gardens where the voice of the Great Spirit is heard in the twittering of birds, the rippling of mighty waters, and the sweet breathing of flowers.
Here, in a fleeting quiet, I am awakened by the fluttering robe of the Great Spirit. To my innermost consciousness the phenomenal universe is a royal mantle, vibrating with His divine breath. Caught in its flowing fringes are the spangles and oscillating brilliants of sun, moon, and stars…

I feel closest to the presence of the Divine when I’m outdoors. Love this quote

I often struggle to fully verbalize to others who believe such things as paganism/animism(sp?) when discussing theology, to say it correctly so they understand that I view so much of the Universe as ‘a portal’ to connect with the Divine, to feel it – to commune with it, but hopeful this quote will aide me when my words fail me, when discussing such things with those I love/cherish, but who, for their part, are seriously worried about my soul – – 😀

Thank you for the further info link! I’ve struggled this past year of fear & political divisiveness to find ‘safe, open’ conversations with many that we have done so in the past – while I believe some things will never return to ‘normal’ (or at least I hope so!) I had to, at some point, stop mourning the loss of being able to have those conversations and look more towards improving myself to ‘be ready’ when/if they are ever possible again with the folks I have had such conversations with, in the past – sigh – – for me? Many losses on so many levels this year, but the loss of ‘two people with long history of discussing topics they don’t always agree on’ in a safe ‘sharing’ way, has been my greatest ‘loss’ counted this year – – so, still working in hermitude (mostly) on improving myself, so IF that time shows up, I’ll be better at engaging once more! 🙂

the world has systematically destroyed our ability to verbalize and linguistically express ourselves the way they used to in the old days. reject modern man’s methods of writing and expressing and just do and say how you feel. this is a beautiful quote.
