What is Real?

Mind always functions within the categories of time, space and causation. These three categories are mental creations only. A coconut tree is not really twenty feet high. The height is only a mental interpretation. There are vibrations only outside. It is the mind that creates length, breadth, height, thickness, dimensions, void, square, etc. A distance of two miles comes out of feeling only. You actually feel that you have walked so much distance. When you transcend the mind, all these categories vanish entirely. Annihilate the mind, therefore, through Self inquiry. You will enter a realm of Peace and Joy which is eternal, infinite and causeless.

  1. The quantum scientists say that everything is made from the same molecules. The frequency at which they vibrate is why a tree looks to us like a tree, a table has a different frequency, I have yet another. So reality has to do with divine energy and how we perceive the vibrations.

  2. a coconut tree of 20 feet high is indeed 20 feet high, but the question is; what is a coconut tree, a foot, and what is high? Then, the question itself becomes irrelevant. It’s like asking “how far is red”. The reality or not reality lies in the fundamental question if something is conceptual or not. The tree is there, it is a reality. But why is it a tree? It is nothing mystical or religious. It is like the duality of Plato. Since the nature of mind is not composed of duality, it does not suffer from it. Still, the mind produces thoughts and therefore concepts. They are like clouds, they do exist, but only conditionally and temporary and because of that it is skillful to realize that.
